To be eligible for the FSTP, applicants must meet certain requirements, including:

1. Work Experience: Applicants must have at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equivalent part-time experience) in a skilled trade within the last five years. The work experience must be in an eligible occupation listed in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
2. Job Offer or Certificate of Qualification: Applicants must either have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer for a continuous period of at least one year or possess a Certificate of Qualification issued by a provincial or territorial authority in Canada.
3. Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English or French by providing test results from an approved language testing agency.
4. Skilled Trade Eligibility: The applicant’s skilled trade must fall under a designated trade occupation classified by the NOC system as Skill Level B.
5. Admissibility: Applicants must meet the standard admissibility criteria, including health and security checks.
