Alberta has eight immigration streams available for individuals wishing to immigrate to the province. This page serves as a guide to help you choose the most suitable stream for your situation. The following streams are available for workers:
1) Alberta Opportunity Stream – targets skilled workers who are currently employed in an eligible occupation in Alberta.
2) Alberta General Express Entry Stream – open to candidates in the Express Entry (EE) system with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 300, and who are currently working in an eligible occupation.
3) Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway – a sub stream under the Express Entry stream, this pathway is available to applicants who are currently working in Alberta’s technology industry or who have received a job offer from that industry in 38 identified occupations.
4) Rural Renewal Stream – available to candidates with a job offer from an Alberta employer for work in a rural community.
For entrepreneurs, the following streams are available:
1) Farm Stream – for those interested in operating a farming business in Alberta.
2) Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – open to international graduates of a designated post-secondary institution in Alberta who wish to start a business in the province.
3) Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – for foreign nationals who have graduated from outside of Canada and who wish to start a business in Alberta.
4) Rural Entrepreneur Stream – for entrepreneurs who intend to acquire or start a business in a rural Alberta community.
